reconstruction of the book by going back through the notes and documenting additions etc
the difference between different types of additions —

some that form part of the normal flow of writing (fit in)
some that are parenthetical asides —
some that complete quotations etc —

many of which can’t be completed because I don’t have any idea of what I was referring to

the way I keep cycling to the structure — as I finish the above I consider it should be a book page at the beginning of reflections if I go that backward route (this note falls between category 1 and 2)
a page in time (this is type one as an addition to the notes)
I cross a page boundary
the differences I can no longer construct between complete thought sequences and things written at different times — normally a line between segments indicates a break but it may simply be a contiguous change in thought pattern or it may be nearly a day

all of the above written at one shot — this after a couple of minutes of reflecting — looking back at yesterdays notes the first parts written at intervals and then ending with a long sequence which would come at the beginning and which at the end

does it matter
can I ever complete this
(T. Andrews — Inquiry) <barth>
in trying to write a complete autobiography can one catch up with himself or herself — itself — the details could grow greater and greater until one reached the point of the actual writing — the description of which would then cycle on itself

I am now I just wrote
this line that line

minute details — clogged sinuses — feeling of ill health — drinking coffee
finished all of Art in America 6/86 yesterday started Structural Anthropology and The Mind’s I which doesn’t seem to live up to the possibilities as Hofstadter in general — decided not to reread High Priest although I may read the section on Burroughs — still haven’t finished Plexus which I like a lot but can’t seem to keep going in

reconstruction of the book

cycling
the physical notebooks

the labyrinth of writing

writing in spurts
catching up with myself
the concept of writing in spurts mentioned many times in these notes — bursts of free flow writing — sexual analogies
what comes (out)
catching up with myself
another concept that keeps coming up
i copy notes from my notebooks into the computer and reach the present (what was present at that time)
i work on the notebooks as i am now and eventually get through all of them
there is a lot more that could be written on this
