5/8

6 AM — last day in New York — decided I’ll skip the Rauschenberg — there is no sense in trying to follow or keep up with artists
(perhaps this could be expanded)
want to get back early and get a full day in tomorrow — catch up on the notes and get some yard work done

the Pepper pieces were great
Giacometti — figurative works I didn’t care much for
Kiefer would have been good to take apart and reuse the canvases (possibly this could be expanded on — I’m the opposite of a lot of the current assemblage workers (not to include Kiefer (necessarily) — they tend to bury the individuality of the items in a mass while I like to isolate them — emphasize them

<not sure when this was entered — it’s not in the curio file i’m using Jim Shaw’s ‘Thrift Shop Paintings’ comes to mind but that’s a different matter (compare the show and the book)

(the concept of the show
reading about it
the show itself
the book—documentation)>

today is Saturday — the street is dull

think more about book for Printed Matter that would have different pages — parts of different series etc
mention On Kawara

photographic documentation etc

get the RRR text and art catalog finished and then something else
somethings else — the texts that wind in and out each other — texts that penetrate texts — that abut without joining each other

photographic documentation
put together the tank sculpture and document as I go along
ritualizations etc — marking spots in the woods — clearing around rocks and certain trees

FIRE WOOD
a visualization of the fire wood pieces on a round platform — about a foot off the floor

plume of black smoke — helicopters

     black stockings and shoes
a red short skirt

a short red skirt

short skirt — red
