working again on the text — moved the 1987 notes in — the year I had forgotten before because of my screwed up diagram of years

again the idea of using the days of the year — taking one from each day regardless of the year
I have too much material
there is no real reason to keep any given passage because of the redundancy
there don’t seem to be any passages that are essential to the book
I probably should do the chronology thing before I go on working on this text so that I can pick out the pieces that I want and get rid of the rest — don’t know how much work it’s going to involve — getting everything down to a few dates — have to all the files back together as I’m now working in three

started cutting radically into the reduction text by just keeping one entry per day of the year — doing it rather randomly trying to balance entries over the years — doing it without reading the entries or paying attention what they are
what do I want to do with all the notes

decided also that I should work in the novel

but it would take a lot of files
