not sure what I like about Bergman
a lot of the elements that I don’t like in later movies or in general

island scenes
jump cuts

the idea of watching film a little at a time — like reading a novel
instead of watching the entire thing

the idea of reading or viewing fragments
of being able to take parts of writing or video or audio works and seeing hearing or whatever in fragments

mixing fragments together
parts of Bergman mixed with abstract elements etc
