10/30

bought a couple of books and a few CDs yesterday
B. Diller book — i’ve always liked his paintings — didn’t know anything about him
recall Judd on Diller — can i find papers like that — the Judd essays

the internet could be a lot better than it is — copying old magazine articles should be OK

every day - i can’t get at writing for the web site
i need to sit down every day and do it
put on some music or not
find a place and write and design

Diller fits in with a lot of my thinking about large and small art and what’s on the screen
the different experiences of looking at a painting and a small image in a book
a picture on a screen

getting more and more writing spaces - idea spaces

and no organization

set aside a place for writing web things and keep track of them — i already have a curio file for web work

art
works i’ll never do
the differences between an art work and a reproduction

to make only reproductions that reproduce nothing
simulated art works
is a computer work an artwork or a simulation of an artwork

i like making art but don’t get around to it so i work with the computer ?
i think that art (not all art) should be made for the computer

i like the idea of art coming on disks — but most of the art that i like is better or necessary as object

compromise with distributability — like music

how much difference is there between a concert and a CDs
