digital text is perfect for exploring ideas on the shape of the book
on margins etc (derrida)

early writing was often on scrolls but the book format became universal
with digital [re]production the scroll returned

i’m fascinated by the fact that writing almost never pays attention to the page —

that it’s viewed/read as a continuous flow of words that what it looks like is not considered

moving art to the screen — i was born too early i think i’m too old now — i’d like to see others doing it — i suppose a lot has been done — (look at flickr) — but the art (that i’m aware of) doesn’t address a lot the issues that seem important to me (that i’m aware of)
