art phenomena
random mind movements — was thinking about not liking moving images on web sites unless it’s something that i choose — that led to lumia sculptures — i remember enjoying the wilford at the whitney — but how long did i sit — maybe 5 minutes (how long can one sit and react to the rothko chapel — or to a turrell work —) several screens at once may be interesting or beautiful (times square - shinjuku) — but more often would be annoying —
(tv seen from another room — the shifting blue light ) — (video works i’ve watched through the entire sequence — vasulkas’ west piece - jeremy blake —)
— so all this led to thinking that people could just play with light — projectors etc — even computer software — to make patterns —
(the constantly changing reflections - projections & shadows on our walls and ceilings )
— the overall question of what is art — (‘concentrating’ natural phenomena?)

this notebook is nearly finished — led to thinking that for several years the end of a notebook coincided with my birthday and this might also — although i’ve been writing so much recently it might not last that long —
the thought path led to my use of different notebooks vs uniform notebooks like i used for a long time — my general thinking on books with different covers and bindings — sets — variations — uniformity — (the goodwill notebooks) —

the idea of being able to completely change formats with digital text — nearly everything is better with digital text / image
