things to note — probably already noted —

a large bin of screws and bolts at goodwill computer store
bins of polished pebbles —
a jar of things removed from tires
a jar of watch batteries

mixing objects then sorting them out

i was going to get some newspapers out and write some politics — then thought learning french was more important — so i’ll look at french while eating —
——
afternoon iced tea on the deck — a nice day — but too sunny for yard work —
looks warm and sunny for the week —
——

a little thinking about the web — looking at Said leads to swift’s tale of a tub which i’ve never read — so i got that out — also important is FW which i’ve been glancing at a little recently
the cover page has some writing on it so it should be scanned

tale of a tub looks like it fits well with roubaud

what i find interesting about said is that i have lot of problems with the writing itself and with his ideas

another digression to valéry — i started monsieur teste but didn’t like it all that much — but his philosophical works — quoted so often — seem most interesting also the Mallarmé writings in french — i have some english translations that i should also read
things keep expanding
valéry — more absurdly priced things — something that may prompt me to get a library card

10/9/21 i have a huge number of small screws and bolts that could make a nice set of bottles and small jars
anti-art
got the mallarmé (complete works) after wanting it for so long - only read a couple of things -
disappointed that ‘the book’ wasn’t in it

10/9/21 but i think that the book is nowhere

10/31/22 i want to avoid buying things but marked a couple of books by mallarmé to buy

11/9/22 bought the book and divagations and a new translation of 'un coup ...'
