reading the third mind — i don’t have the burroughs things arranged in order — not sure what i want to reread next — maybe the trilogy — maybe a fiction & a non fiction at the same time — also have last words … — out — bathroom reading — only a few pages of nova express left (upstairs in the bedroom —) — feeling i’ll fall asleep soon — early AM — kim in bed —
——
cut-ups get boring quickly — in a way
but in another way they are continuously interesting — another infinity —
i always want to read something new — but there are endless ways of [re]reading what i have — an infinity of possible cut ups and ins — and outs —
fragmentation permutations convolutions
ins and outs —

note something on image/text — normally text becomes image immediately when written — but with a processor it remains text —
you can’t draw a line down a word processor text and cut it in half — but if you make it an image or open two windows (into the text) you can cut them or line up the text —
but the cut becomes infinitely adjustable — you can play/work for hours — forever (what would this neologism be combining hours and forever)
list examples (lists can remain open [ended] — endlessly open)
make a circle mask and move it around a page —
cut and align pages in different ways — move one side down one or two lines at a time —
the ‘cut’ doesn’t have to be straight —
different shapes can be cut out of texts — scan pages — (the scanner totally changes the possibilities — nothing is ‘destroyed’ —the same page can be ‘cut’ over and over — no pasting necessary —) (using the word ‘montage’ instead of ‘collage’ — nothing is glued or pasted into place — nothing is [re]assembled — (what comes apart doesn’t go back together) — ——
