shells
the shell collection is a mess — i was going to fill the drawers with galveston things but there are too many things that are fragile and need to stay where they are — i’ve lost track of where everything came from —
there are a lot of shells that are not fragile that could be put into boxes — the previous galveston things can stay in the vases that they’re in —
how many photographs
make different arrangements of different types of objects and make comments example: i don’t usually collect bivalve shells but always get a few and on one walk i concentrated on them
example: some shells fragment better than others — there are thin clam shells that litter the beach and that are not interesting but fragments of most of the gastropods are interesting
this trip i noticed colors more than i usually do — several had beautiful colors — i’m not sure if they’re like stones and need to be wet to bring out the colors —

off to a slow start — got out my galveston finds — they never look as good on a table as they do on the beach —


my work got diverted after finishing the notebook scan — then i had to do a lot of house things to get ready to go to galveston — now what —
