? put my booknotes in this notebook (some of them) or a separate area — everything ends up a mess — live with messiness — use whatever i feel like using at a given time — index things and organize later — (later than when - later than what)
PROBLEM — these odd sized and oddly bound notebooks —
SOLUTION 1 — scan the covers — name the books — put the info in the notes DB — put the notebooks in a box
PROBLEM this notebook is thick and it’s difficult to write on the bottom of a page without opening it flat —
PROBLEM — delaying things because of some simple little thing i don’t feel like doing —
EXAMPLE — not putting things away in the studio because i don’t feel like making labels for the boxes
all of the above was written because i wanted to note something from the andre book
p249-50 — on the differences — judd andre flavin
250 RT IDEAL SPACE PREFERRED SPACE
251 LEFT VECTORS
CLASS STRUGGLE — is bullshit —
what is the ‘working’ class
andre certainly not
people of many classes — educated — not — etc
251 COL SPAN
tiles cut for a space — & not — gaps & holes
a good work — art as floor —
floors are walked on walls are not —
(walls — artwork on top of art works —)
252 LEFT TOP QUOTE
works to be walked around or through — thinking about things in different ways —
my assemblage ideas involve things to be looked at from all around —
(not above and below although there would be an implied view —
i haven’t thought in terms of things that could be turned sideways — i should think about that —
objects would have to be secured in all directions) (think about this in relation to 2nd quote (true or not))
252 RT COL
on standing in front of a work — andre work in fort worth — andre must have anticipated that museums wouldn’t allow his work to be walked on
(consider this work & the agam in buffalo — important art ideas (i’m back to writing on art)
