galveston
early AM — barely awake
a dream i was very upset because i couldn’t remember one of our dog’s name —
then a part awake state i realized that we didn’t have dogs yet — (there were 2 —
i remember one name) woke up thinking we had greyhounds and these weren’t greyhounds —
arm sore — elbow sore — shoulder sore —my jaw hurts a little again —
i took very many photos yesterday — sunrise sunset — and a lot of pictures on the shore —
with so little on the beach i noticed more things
feldman — sparseness
collection — keeping things in storage and only displaying a few things at a time —
words — only a few to a page — a web site could be very sparse —
the differences between art ‘forms’ — video / film is continuous — blank spaces aren’t used — could they be — music and video are listened to / watched differently (attended to) — reading is different because there is (usually) no inherent speed or progression (when there is — as when a letter or something is shown in a movie (i dislike the word ‘movie’) the time ‘frame’ is usually wrong — too slow or too fast (for me) —
in a book you can go back — now with DVD you can also do that easily (this paragraph will need to be totally rewritten (paragraph - block - text (is text a large structure or is every part of a large text (a book) also a text —) (‘a’ ‘the’ ‘this’ ‘that’)
the sky is starting to lighten — 15 minutes until the sun rises — do i want another series of pictures — i should — each morning — this stay longer than our previous stays — an extra day makes a large difference —
write about ‘computer text’ — ‘web site text’ while doing it — use different form[at]s of the same {text / material} (is image part of text) — (is text an image — reading scanning looking (i can’t imagine my text ‘read’ like a book because i’m very bad at reading aloud — i read with a ‘inner’ voice but can’t speak with an outer voice) (pictures can be described but not read — (illustrate with pictures of text — maybe a scan of this ‘note’ —)))
? the use of audio and video in the text — embedded — all the new HTML possibilities that i haven’t looked at much —
