readings
finally finishing the place of houses that i started months ago and put aside

trying to get into some reading about places and houses
reread the lippard — there are a couple of other books on suburbs etc that i have
don’t want to go out and get any more books

the place of houses
the concept of a house
extended families
nuclear families
artificial families
neighborhoods

i hate picket fences and the faux neighborhoods that developers try to make into neighborhoods

my own experience — sitting on our front porch (stoop)
i still like to sit in front of the house sometimes but would like more privacy although i don’t mind talking to people who walk by — actually i enjoy it
when younger i didn’t want to talk to anyone

looking out the front window
houses that present blank fronts and houses that are open in front
seeing out but not seeing in[to]

art
bits and pieces of work in the garage
very hot and humid so i can’t work for long
feed the pets and then move a few more things

all my art material coming together —
thinking again of a large piece for the upstairs hall
something modular so that it can come apart
some method of holding it other than 2x4 — something lighter
cables?
