NYTimes article on loop music — i haven’t read yet — music as loops is something i’ve thought about quite a bit — but haven’t listened to recently

BURROUGHS — DEAD FINGERS TALK — makes me think of cut up texts — i should cut up mine — (cut up cut out carve) — the ability to endlessly arrange material (carl andre — i have the DIA book out — was looking for a couple of quotes)

i think of the overwhelming number of things i want to do —

i think new writing should go into early sections of the notebooks — recently i thought of (recurrences of ‘recently’) — going through the notes in 4 directions instead of 2 —

1 from the beginning chronologically
1 from the end — most recent — going backward
3 or 4 in the current random order (3or4)

i’m getting close to p23 — (associations)

cut out — editing — not much being cut out of my notebooks —
WRITING in which nearly everything is kept — brings me back to my earliest text ideas — which also should have a place on the web

BURROUGHS — thinking of buying the restored texts although the restored naked lunch didn’t seem any different and i don’t want a scholarly approach — comparing the texts side by side

DEAD FINGERS xxiv — the 3 & 4 — a book of numbers — the triangle (equilateral) doesn’t relate well to a square — but a diagonal across a square makes 2 triangles and 2 diagonals make 4 — (do something with illustrator — diagonals on all the rectangles & squares of a drawing — (take each ‘background’ & just use diagonals (they need to reach the edges)) to divide it))
