reading “Desert Music” and not really liking it

ideas of layout — the similar format of the pages — I like the look of The Cantos much better — idea of varied pages — ideas of translating another writer into my system — Robbe-Grillet for example or Burroughs

pages with explanations etc
phrases that can be moved about
pieces that cohere in time sequence

the idea of backward and forward — perhaps the reflection notes could be duplicated so that part in the front would be duplicated in the back chronologically — which makes sense in that the work is actually constructed in two directions — forward chronologically but also backward in that each idea that I have later in time can affect the entire book — everything that came before it chronologically different sequences
divide section by section and overlay each with descriptions etc — a book on Pound which is an index with tables and annotations — I like lists (superimpose text by Spencer about Butor)
