ART WRITE
respond not to art works or not only to art works but to the writing about art works
the problem of linkages — between writings like the Judd essay and aspects of my own works and other writings —
the fact of fitting all the writings together — inside and outside of these notes — wherever —
bibliographies with codes to indicate which they link to
ART PROJECT
the faces project(s) — a book of faces with names of catalogs
a box of faces nameless
text blocks notes
sun and breeze long grass waving
head of dandelion about to fall off
eyes burning from contacts
another day with no schedule no drive
ideas for essays and art works floating unspecific — Judd’s words in mind
specific
specification specified objects specimens
still ideas for a large verbal and computer drawing work
WRITE
on Hockney’s faxed print (ArtNews 9/90) not for sale — the non-archival paper —
there is something I dislike about archival stuff —
I can’t imagine my things in perfect condition X years from now
I can picture them coming apart etc — I wouldn’t want to see them yellowed (the black and whites) —
what do I really want — the idea that even words change
shifts / faults
WORK
reading review of Madsen (AinA 9/90) — I think of hanging a large piece of drain pipe from the ceiling —
previously I thought of it on a base
also thought of working the surface — which I may do
