the impossibility of listing the papers etc
at the far left my line drawing tool in its oak box — (I should try to describe it some day) with a pile of papers on top of it — the printer — three stacks of papers across the front of the desk then the key board and the blue pad for the mouse — between the two stacks of paper on the left is a stapler (black) — the cat gets off the papers and sits on top of the computer — in the center of the desk is the black pad that usually has a coffee cup on it and will soon have a coffee cup on it but it will be placed on the right edge of the desk behind the mouse — behind it is a tape dispenser a battery charger a tape measure a vase of pens and pencils a stem vase a lamp from a track light that I should have put in the attic a long time ago and the outlet strip into which all the electrical cords are plugged
behind the keyboard is a card file that I use to keep track of the computer files — behind it are some label tapes (one green and one black) the label maker and the flash for the camera reminding me as I write this that I’ve been wanting to take some pictures — behind the computer are some boxes of slides that haven’t been filed yet and discarded slides that should be put in the attic — and some ankle weights
it’s now 9:42
I am about to get up to get a cup of coffee — my first cup of the day since I didn’t get up until 9

make some listing of the possibilities of the novel space — the inside outside etc — for example the past writings I’ve done or tried to do in which a single piece of writing or several days writings are expanded from within by constantly going back and rewriting etc
for example above I said something about making description of the desk ‘every day’ — I could go back to that point and insert something on that and the idea of writing every day which has been important to me in the past and which I’ve never been able to carry out — that is to start on a certain day and make a 365 part writing by writing something every day for a year or a 360 part piece by leaving out certain days
the idea of writing something concerning the days — especially the days that are important to me
yesterday was the first day of spring — April 27th is my birthday
I set certain goals to finish certain things by my birthday — starting yesterday — I didn’t get much done yesterday what is the significance of Jacques Revel burning his map on the last Sunday of April of a leap year — this year it is on a Monday — JR
