building more and more cross links that won’t fit

the idea of the continuously expanding text
the idea of dropping out parts that I think no longer belong etc

the notebooks as they now exist etc

written response to or note to 6/9/85
structuring is still a problem

I’m in a writing mood — the mood to add links — to add layers etc — explanations etc
but what I want to do is cut back — or is it — what do I want for this hypertext or that hypertext

do I want to keep adding and let it keep expanding and pull sections of it out
do I want to take the notes that I have now and cut them back to something that fits into a hypertext
do I want to start over and write a new text using pieces of the notes as parts of the text

I really don’t know

what I wanted to note was the entry on working a forty hour week etc which relates to something that is very important for me as far as the structuring of art in the society and a very difficult question
my working class indoctrination that I can’t really shake although I do it in theory

the idea of starting over is starting to get hold of me — of course the larger text would simply contain another beginning — one of so many — but the hypertext could pull out or aside like the Lord Vanity did

start and finish — can I finish anything — but the context would not imply a finish — or the finish would be defined simply as a spatial or temporal thing — or the overlay of space/time whatever — I begin and write a certain amount and include a certain amount of material from the older writings etc — when I have a certain amount of material that is the text
