9/10
feed the birds — water the plants
time to make a list of things to do again — the text taking up a lot of my time and not really moving along —
just cycling — as usual — how many spaces do I want etc — 479 day spaces — close to the 69 cycle number —
also close to 480 which is a nice number — or I could break a lot of them down and go for a higher number —
leave no scrolling fields — or the hypothetical reader could decide
didn’t try any 64 multiples which are binary — 64*8=512 — not a ‘good’ number
but it does relate to the computer aspect of things (as does the K — 512K) 512-479=33 — OK
do I want all the day spaces in the time cycle or do I want to choose —
I guess I’ll put them all in — a path that will follow through all the days of the year
back and forth and around through time — but starting at the beginning — 4/27/77
ending what 4/20/93 — how many days is that
< ? most of 9/10 marked for annotation and metatext deleted some i hadn’t crossed out or marked>
labyrinth cycles etc
the same things i’ve been trying to decide for — how many years
meta spaces — metastasis
can I imagine some sort of novel or something
speaking of which I should pick up the box with the porn and romance that’s in Saranac
and make some more decisions on what to do with it — I’m starting to not
like the large page sizes that I made but that does allow a large field
of writing to write from — but small pages could be spread out etc
papers spread all over the desk — the mess that is always — static mess
started looking at the art notes the last couple of nights but haven’t been able to get into them at all —
also have the hypertext in Storyspace that I have to get at try to work some definitions
or ideas as to what the hyper is in the text or even what text is
note on Bernstein quote etc — how even the book that I read it in is not used in that manner —
actually the entire quote on p51 is interesting — the reader’s needs and desires —
does one really know — the shift from reader to writer this all links to the ideas of readerly and writerly
which I think is totally confused in a lot of ‘writing’ in that control etc are not turned
to the reader because the reader in question is a writer — do ‘readers’ really like these theorists — I don’t think so
