try to consolidate some ideas on doing things — in a meticulous cataloging mood but can’t get a lot of what I want to do done because I need to get some stuff from Saranac

the idea of separate storage areas and a sort of museum

setting up the house for various exhibits — trying to think of some sort of drawer system to store things but the house doesn’t really seem to be set up properly — the library is overdone but I don’t know what to do about it — most of the books don’t need to be out all of the time but there are far too many of them and most of them need to be accessible in some way — the area under the attic ladder is wasted and should be used better — possibly I could build a set of drawers that would go there or use the large files from the cellar — but they work nice there as a bench and there is a lot of stuff that could be stored in the cellar — possibly something in the den using trays — need to get rid of a lot of records or get them stored somewhere else

some nice student pieces at the college — lamps using copper pipe and some sort of film or lacquer — too rough (I didn’t like the bolts sticking out etc or the way the lamp holder worked) but something about them that I like

thinking of some sort of screen thing for Saranac that would be rather elaborate
(pieces in conception — mirror for bedroom — screen for Saranac)
using wood and brass or copper hardware and plexiglass —
bones and stuff found in the fields
leaves between plastic sheets etc
things that could be changed or that could be left
fragments of things
some would be open and some would be vitrines
making sure that there was no obtrusive grid or making a grid oriented piece
some areas could be open shelves
