the other line would be defined and repeatable (finite I guess) — but this brings up the problem of the sound generating equipment — of the ‘score’ etc — something like a minimal piece that would be scored for many hours and then just a fraction or part of it would be ‘played’ for a given ‘piece’ — for example minutes 150 — 190 — all the possibilities of different sound generating devices etc
