there are so many small pieces that I could write —
the idea of a lot of fragments of my writing such as something developed from the above — packaged along with some art etc
the idea is for a small 10 or 1 page thing that I would give away at some local stores and book stores — try to work on the idea of something semi—self contained — some fragment pulled from a larger context and ‘presented’ — ‘displayed’ etc or whatever
the idea of DVD seems great — a disk that could contain so much material — all of my notes etc — something that could contain short video and music — the problem is that I don’t like the current display possibilities — but it seems a media perfect for my art ideas — I was born too early — too soon — and I’m not one to pioneer — to work toward making it happen — I dislike the concept of ‘making it happen’

some pressures of the job situation last week getting at my intestines (I should take some medicine)

I should try to write more carefully so I’ll be able to read it when I want to copy the notes — writing and copying notes seems rather silly — how does this relate to ‘writing’ and ‘literature’ — thinking about someone writing a novel — from the hand written to the typewriter etc — how were old novels revised and corrected etc — Dostoyevski’s notes have been published — Joyce is fascinating working toward something — the idea of doing without a plot etc — Burroughs Joyce
from plot to structural or structuring situations — architectonic (the idea of <?> comes up again) — Joyce’s day and night books — possibly look at Joyce and Burroughs as rather opposite in some sense — one working from a closed structural concept and the other starting with the material and working from a process — only the later novels have any feeling of ‘plot’ Place of Dead Roads that begins and ends at the same place
