SHAME
10:26 AM — 3 days
the sound of the coffee grinder
my coffee is nearly finished
the birds are after something across the street
starlings seagulls crows
the desk — I was going to make some sort of description of the desk — shifting arrangements etc
my notes — French / English dictionary — a card file — a coffee — computer — calculator — ceramic vase holding pens pencils etc — my pen — 3 one dollar bills — a tape measure — a remote control for the stereo — electric flash — a track lamp that has been on the desk for months because I haven’t gotten around to putting it back in the attic — battery charger — stem holder and dried plant stem — label maker — slide boxes and discarded slides — misc papers — hand exerciser and ankle weights
the list could be alphabetized
the room is always a mess

notes written in the margin
lines between lines
insert[ion]s (can I break up the ion to ‘in on’ (insert[i/on]s))

what is a temporal progression — how does this fit

that’s a problem
that’s the problem
that’s part of the problem
that’s one of the problems

some{where/time} I have to begin —

then I have to continue
then I have to end

not necessarily in that order — (Goddard Sontag Robbe-Grillet)
