i immediately think digital — on paper once a line is drawn over another line it is permanent — but in the computer the lines could be put on different layers and interact differently — could be moved etc —

can tobey’s idea be used on canvas — what stasis remains — the painting is a static work —

i usually dislike this — there is nothing revealed — nothing to be revealed — no one could get any idea of the calligraphic from his work (is it always his?)
