café d’artiste is closed —
there must be something like it in houston — some coffee shops as in austin — i guess overall i like austin better — but wish there were a place like the menil — if one of the overly rich around there would by up a large area and make a museum and nice surrounding area — old houses etc —

different types of space — there isn’t much that’s old (as in NY) and what is old is very small — lofts are all new — i usually like new things but there is something about old buildings i like — layers of walls etc — (a large piece at the contemporary museum made of old wood — building fragments)
