discard things every day and try to write down what and why — keep only things that i find nice enough to put in the house —

(whatever nice enough means — would a Rauschenberg be nice enough)

in any case i can buy things for the wall

(but the walls are already full and we have a lot more things in storage — collections of art)

art
start using the frames that i’ve collected and get rid of the things that are in them — maybe cut some papers like the architectural drawings to the size of the frames

what am i going to do with the architectural drawings — this is where the idea of starting over comes in — i can paint etc on the drawings which is a good effect but i don’t need that many — i would never be able to use up what i have an idea to take things like that and immediately cut the volume in half
get rid of half of them — then cut down some more later

all the book pages
the idea of keeping pages with resonant numbers 12 23 49 56 69 — just keep the pages that i like and would fit into a notebook
i don’t really think i’ll do much altered book work — and if i want to i can just get some books
keep pages as a collection of pages
same with all the loose leaf paper

cut things to the size of the photobooks that i’ve collected
just fill them up and don’t worry about writing a ‘book’ to go into them

going back and forth

between junk and geometry
between 2 and 3 dimensions
between ideas and actual art

make some lists of artists that i like

architecture plans (found at recycle place) have gone through 3 purges and i still have too many
i had a lot of ideas for them
cutting them up for photo bindings
painting on them
there is almost nothing that i left in plattsburgh that i regret leaving —
from time to time i think of something i’d like to still have — but not often

a couple of pieces of pipe but they were large and i wouldn’t be able to use them anyway

so far i haven’t regretting getting rid of most of the things i discarded here
