<travel journal - hotel san jose>

stones wet from rain —
fountain / pool —
bamboo and flowers — haven’t taken any photos —

a nice white flower —
rain drain chain —

a lot of possibilities for our yard —
bamboo — needs to be contained —
the cost of steel planters? — could make something using galvanized meterial — but i like raw steel better
pebbles — decomposed granite (neither kim nor i like — but it looks nice — not a texture for walking —

let mind wander —
but i should try to figure out a way of staying aware — being careful about things that i do
can this be practiced —
is there some mental exercise —
pick a time frame and try to note everything that i do — where i put things etc

i should take a couple of photos —

took a few photos — hopefully it won’t rain all day — i’d like to walk around and photo some houses — yard structures etc —

(the word ‘take’ for photos — what is taken — why not ‘make’ — i hate the word ‘shoot’ for photographing) (to write with light) — brought the video camera but probably won’t have a use for that — i did some good video pieces with the other camera — haven’t traveled much since we got the digital camera —
good things bad things —
the relief of finding my tape — the fact that i lost it to begin with — the fact that i never got the things onto disk —
? hard drives or optical media — CDs and DVDs are cheap — but not very convenient —
but all that we have could fit into a box that would fit in the safe —
a media drive — a video clip takes up a lot of space —
