do i think of the page as an image — i could put the words into a photoshop document and line them up without having to use css — (but maybe i should use indesign — i had adobe creative suite for years and never used it enough to justify paying for it — but now i don’t have indesign — i only have photoshop — and then there are the graphic elements i want to get into the pages — my art works (although they’re probably not worth bothering with) photoshop indesign illustrator dreamweaver — impossible —

this is impossible to write — i write pages (but these aren’t really pages that i’m writing now — it’s one long scroll of text (i don’t like the metaphor of ‘scrolling’ but i suppose it’s a good one)
i write all of this ‘text’ and i’ve written nothing — it all has to be arranged and rearranged and formatted etc etc — i could put in examples of different arrangements and organizations — so that any sequence of text could generate several sequences of text
every sequence of text (i could line up the word[s] sequence (singulars and plurals fascinate me but i’ve written quite a bit about that)) — every sequence of text needs to be divided into pages and each page could generate several other or many other pages — adding text the concept of metatext is important (to me — to what i want to do with this text or these texts)

the idea i’ve been working with is to have pages divided into 3 columns — the left column would be a transcription (edited or not) of the notes (some days have short entries and two or three (should i use numbers or words — 2 or two) fit on a ‘page’ and some are long and require several pages) (being fascinated by words — ‘entries’ <elaborate>))
the right column would have new text — text to explain or elaborate on the notes — a metatext
the center column would have text fragments - dates - links etc
these text fragments and blocks could/should be in different fonts or indented etc (i think of colors but that would add another infinity)
i’ve ‘gone’ through the notes several times and sometimes put in ‘inserts’ that are the equivalent of what i’m now calling metatext — in the current version <elaborate> — (words that can be pronounced in more than one way and can function as verbs or adjectives etc fascinate me (i tend to use some words too often — words like ‘fascinate’ — things interest me fascinate me — too many things) the inserts are dated and indented and enclosed in angle brackets < >— so i need to decide — do i ‘take them out’ and put them into the right column or leave them where they are and use the right column for new text
the center column would have fragments taken from the text or from ideas in the text
