weather channel Video Transcript Close so let’s talk about the storm surge forecast Pacific we for hurricane Ian because it’s changed a little bit with the center of the storm forecast to make landfall little bit farther south than it initially looks like tampon looks like storm surge is going to be less of a problem but southwestern Florida especially fort Myers port Charlotte places like that we’re talking serious life threatening storm surge there and then as a center of Ian moves across central Florida we’re gonna get a surge across up parts of the southeast coast so remember was storm surge are you looking for where the wind is blowing directly on to the land blows the ocean basically on to the shoreline in parts of the coast become part of the ocean and with that initial landfall on Wednesday that’s where it’s going to be really really serious and life threatening storm surge in southwestern Florida along the southwestern coast and then as the storm moves across central Florida you notice with that when coming out of the east on to the southeast coast that’s where we get a surge there so that’s going to be more than of late Wednesday through the day on Thursday and remember storm surge is the deadliest part of hurricanes most often
