don’t know how or where to begin — pretty definitely settled on 1 mixed subject book (call it Vol 1) with all material —

<9/24/91 actually today I still had to decide whether to put my notes here or there — now I make an insert to an insert — I was going to mention the weather — started as a sunny day but pretty grey now — blue along the edges
all decisions seem arbitrary but I still have to decide

reflecting still (examine the words that I use for thinking processes such as reflecting) on the possible arrangements — these notes are chronological but they deal with a layered aspect of the text — a substrata (there was something in Speech and Phenomena on geology and textual metaphors p111-112) — something I’ve considered doing is listing all these passages on the subject matter of the text and the constant back and forth shifts between one book and many — this links with something from Derrida on the question beyond absolute knowledge there is probably no way of ever coming to an answer — one can’t be inside the system and outside of it at the same time — I am caught up in the text
