a flash of sunlight in a dreary week gets me out of a stupor

the arrangement of dried weeds on the table in the sun but I can’t see it from here

I got up to write
the birds in the front bushes
Plattsburgh is so ugly but that is probably just the ugliness of things
what is better
a kind of determination to make the best of what is here

but how to avoid some corniness of living in a small zero town
