thinking of some small piece — a book? booklet — what would be a good name for such a piece — all the problems of binding packaging presentation etc that could/should be examined — Butor’s essays come to mind but I don’t want to write essays — some idea of references etc which would not be a part of a fragment but would be a part of a larger work that might never exist systems that keep changing — music literature art — in some shifting context — taking things out of current systems of pieces that are self contained these are ideas to explore
I like CDs and (I was going to say books but I really don’t like books — although I continue to collect them (or whatever) — but I have a problem with the concept of the book and that is a lot of the matter here) — but what could replace the book — and what about the art work — what context could/should that be placed in

Duchamp — putting the mind back into an art too visual — the eye the hand the mind — I don’t really like ‘the hand’ — although I like a lot of craft pieces — when I think of the ‘handiwork’ of the piece I like it less — the made by hand aspect (in that sense) doesn’t appeal to me

as my eyes wander around the house — this house totally familiar but so strange — after so many years

I need to start getting practical — things to do — or is there any necessity at all — I could go on like this just writing notebooks like this — just doing nothing — collecting things — playing with the synths once in a while — making an art work
