raw material and finished work
the fact that i can never consider a work finished
or if it is i want to do other works that extend it
the work becomes part of an endless series

find objects
photograph them
discard them

but i always want to keep the object
to be looked at again in different ways

thinking of slow movements of (not images - colors)
for some reason was thinking about whitney etc and the idea of visual music
that doesn’t really seem to hold — music is not cyclical although it maybe could be
in a way that’s what i’ve been thinking about for music
but in theory — i haven’t practiced anything so i don’t know if any of my ideas are useable

the ideas that i was thinking about for the galveston piece that would involve sequences of images against a moving background - wave motion or bird fllight

the image in art
in collage and video i don’t object to objects
in painting i very seldom like objects
non-objective photography seems limited
i don’t know why - it should be no more limited than painting

photography allows the use of images by people who don’t have the technical skills to paint images
realism
real images and virtual images

cut up a lot of book material today
went up to the paper studio and got depressed

i don’t know where to begin
i don’t even feel like cleaning off the drawing table
