THE LURE OF THE LOCAL
respond to first page — my own sense of place —
there is nowhere that i return to (my love of the south) — i’m too old now —
probably would never have found a place to go every year — maybe an island somewhere —
(my fear of open spaces) —
i dislike where i came from — i spent too much time there (wasted time?) —
but i did have a lot of enjoyment in the woods — was very happy staying in a cabin in vermont —
but our cabin in east texas was just as enjoyable — maybe find a place in or near the desert
that i could walk the desert from — maybe someplace like that —
a place in the desert — and an island — visit once a year —
west coast florida
west texas
(always the problem of pet care)
(get the house finished — way behind even my worst case schedule)
<1/9/13 but i’ve never considered beaches to be open spaces — for some reason they feel enclosed — between the sea and the dunes>
